SMS amputation for hippo bite boy

A British surgeon volunteering in the Democratic Republic of Congo used text message instructions to perform a life-saving arm amputation on a boy who’d been attacked by a hippo, News.com.au has reported.
Dr David Nott had never previously carried out the procedure, which required a forequarter amputation, removing the 16 year-old victim’s left shoulder blade.
So he text messaged a London colleague who texted him back telling him how to do it.
