Indian low-cost carrier, SpiceJet, will actively consider overseas operations by May next year when the airline completes the required five years of domestic flying, according to a Hindustan Times report. Medium-haul routes to the Middle East, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia are reportedly among those under consideration.
“We have no desire to fly to the US or the UK. We would like to draw a circle around India and see where we can go using a similar fleet,” SpiceJet’s CEO, Sanjay Aggarwal, was quoted saying.
