Bangkok, Thailand (December 16, 2009) – With SpiceRoads’ newest excursion visitors will be able to leave the chaos of Hanoi behind for a day as they cycle along the Red River and through the countryside surrounding Vietnam’s capital city.
Suited for all riders, including families, the Hanoi day tour explores alleys, the banks of the Red River, passes by flower and vegetable gardens, village lanes and alongside lotus lakes to give you a whole new perspective of the city. The ride meanders around West Lake and stops at one of the most revered Buddhist pagodas in Vietnam. Cyclists will be surprised at how little traffic they’ll encounter as they explore a side of Hanoi that’s well off the beaten path.
See where the real Hanoi lives as you peek into open doors and see families preparing for the day, cycle past children on their way to school and see what’s for sale and to eat from the various street stalls. A small local ferry takes riders across the Red River to cycle on a dyke path. After a leisurely ride by small gardens grown on the fertile banks of the river, the tour crosses back over at Thang Long Bridge and a local lunch at a charming riverside caf
