SriLankan Airlines will be removing its fuel surcharge for nearly its entire route network from 1 January. The carrier will be completely removing its surcharges on all tickets to short-haul and medium-haul destinations, including all cities in India and the Middle East, as well as Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Beijing, Male, and Karachi.
The surcharge for five long-haul destinations - London, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Tokyo – will also be greatly reduced, with a flat rate surcharge of EUR25 (US$32) levied for one-way fares and EUR50 for return tickets.
