SriLankan takes delivery of new aircraft

SriLankan Airlines has taken delivery of the first of its new fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft - the first new aircraft to join the carrier in over four years. A second aircraft is scheduled to arrive this month, with a third and fourth likely to be obtained in Q1 2009. The airline intends to acquire a fifth aircraft in the next financial year. The new acquisitions are part of a major fleet modernisation programme.
