SriLankan to double flights to China

SriLankan Airlines has announced plans to double its flights to China over the next two years. The sector is proving very profitable for the national carrier which currently flies to China and Hong Kong 10 times per week. With revenues expected to grow 15% on current sectors to China, SriLankan intends to increase flight frequency to 13 this year and 21 over the next two years. The airline currently flies to Beijing via Bangkok but expect to introduce direct flights in the near future. According to the Asia Tribune, SriLankan intends to boost its fleet to 28 from the current 19 over the next four years to support this growth.
