MARIO LOPEZ-BELIO has been announced as Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s (CWT’s) new Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer. Lopez-Belio, 43, previously served as Vice President, Enterprise Strategic Sourcing for Carlson, the majority shareholder of CWT.
SHANNON HYLAND has been appointed Chief Financial Officer with Radius. The global travel company announced that Hyland, a 19-year travel industry veteran with finance, administration, and corporate development experience, joins Radius after serving for three years as the Chief Financial Officer for Groople, the online group travel planning company.
FRANK GRASSMANN has been appointed General Manager of the Evason Phuket & Six Senses Spa. German national Grassmann joins Six Senses from his most recent role of Hotel Manager at the Dusit Thani Manila, Philippines.
SUJIT BANERJEE has taken over as Secretary for Indian government’s Ministry of Tourism. Banerjee succeeds Shilabhadra Banerje, who has retired from office.
The new Secretary was previously in the Cabinet Secretariat.
EDWARDO ISWANDI has been appointed as the new Director of Sales & Marketing with the Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket Prior to his new role, Iswandi held several prominent sales & marketing positions in Asia at hotel groups including Hyatt, Sol Melia and Accor.
BEN MONTGOMERY has been announced as PATA’s new Assistant Director, Membership Services. Miss Montgomery has extensive sales experience in the Thai hotel sector - including spells at the Sheraton, Shangri-La and Mandarin Oriental. She will be based at PATA’s Bangkok headquarters.
DARREN BRINKMAN has been appointed as Recreation Manager at the Indigo Pearl resort, in Phuket. Brinkman, a sports coach and karate black belt will head up the resort’s new recreation, ranging from Muay Thai boxing and diving to biking adventures, jungle walks and yoga.
