Germany’s Steigenberger Hotel Group is hoping to expand its presence in China after partnering with a local PR and marketing agency.
Oliver Sedlinger and his agency will now be tasked with promoting Steigenberger and its other brands, InterCityHotels and Jaz in the City, in China. Oliver Sedlinger has more than 15 years’ experience in China, including a spell working for the German National Tourist Board (GNTB).
“We will be undergoing strong growth over the next few years,” said Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger.
“Oliver Sedlinger is an extremely experienced and well networked representative for us on the Chinese market. He provides a channel whereby we can expand our presence and raise awareness of our brands and worldwide locations amongst Chinese travellers. This is something from which our hotels in China will also benefit.”
Steigenberger currently operates one Chinese hotel, the Hotel Maximilian in Beijing. But the company also pipeline of six new hotels across China, all of which are expected to open by 2018.
