Strategic Airlines signs IT deal with Mercator

Australia’s Strategic Airlines has contracted Mercator, the IT services business of Emirates Group, to provide its future reservations and sales distribution IT platform.
Avantik, developed and hosted by Mercator Asia, covers reservations, GDS connectivity, internet booking, online check-in, departure control and FFP capability. It will be implemeted by Brisbane-based Strategic later in the year.
“As a brand new RPT airline with a phase one business model, we are seeking new generation airline management solutions with the flexibility to grow as we do, supplied by companies which understand our business” said Bob Kane, Strategic’s Chief Information Officer. “The support of an innovative IT provider is imperative to our plans and that is one reason we chose Mercator Asia and Avantik.
“The Avantik system is built on modern, scalable technology and will deliver immediate benefits to Strategic in the areas of direct distribution and an enhanced capability to serve the needs of our passengers, travel agency partners, corporate accounts and caters for our future grow plans,” he added.
