The German pilots’ union, Vereinigung Cockpit, has announced its decision to call Lufthansa pilots to strike after the failure of talks with the airline. Lufthansa said that the union demanded a greater say on “fundamental entrepreneurial issues”, which it was not prepared to meet. No dates for the strike action have been announced, and the airline said it urged pilots to return to negotiations.
