Abu Dhabi International Airport has seen a 39.2% rise in its total number of passengers during the first five months of 2008, the Gulf News has reported. Statistics released by the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) show that over 3.5 million passengers travelled through the airport during the January-May period, with figures for the month of May alone seeing a 56.2% increase from 2007. The large rises were however expected due to the increase in routes and services offered by Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad.
