SWISS has posted a 10.9% year-on-year increase in the first half of this year. The airline carried 7.3 million passengers during the six-month period although the increase is in comparison to last year’s ash cloud hit months. Felix Rodel, country manager UK and Ireland at SWISS said its London routes had been popular. “The UK market has performed well in the first half of this year. One route that is doing well in particular is the London Heathrow – Geneva route, which we run six times daily,” he explained. “Our new winter schedule will also see us increasing our London City to Geneva route to five times daily on Mondays to Fridays.” Its load factor improved by 1.1% to 79.1% on European routes and seat factor registered at 83.7% on intercontinental routes.
