New South Wales ‘ Premier, Nathan Rees, has said that plans to extend Sydney ‘s light-rail line will not replace the Metro system planned for the city. According to a Sydney Morning Herald report, Rees insisted that the AU$70 million (US$54.7 million) light rail extension to the city’s inner-western suburbs will be able to run alongside the AU$5.3 billion Metro.
The metro train - 7km of underground track between Central and Rozelle – is scheduled to be finished in 2015.
