Taiwan hit by strong earthquake

A powerful earthquake has struck southern Taiwan. According to a Channel NewsAsia report, the 6.4 magnitude quake’s epicenter was approximately 30km from the coastal town of Taitung, but it was felt as far away as Taipei. Fortunately no casualties were reported, and no tsunami warning was issued.
