Taj Hotels, Resort & Palaces has announced plans to add three more properties to its Indian portfolio, Anil Mathur reports. The first two, the 220-room Taj Mount Road, Chennai, and the 199-room Taj Whitefield Hotel project in Bengaluru, are expected to open by the end of 2008. Meanwhile the 172-room Taj Panjim, Goa, is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2009.
Additionally, Taj plans to open two lodges in the Panna National Park and Kanha National Park. The lodges will be called Pashan Garh, at Panna, and Banjaar Tola, at Kanha. These lodge properties are designed to cater for India’s growing market for nature and wildlife tourism.
