TAT promo targets Chinese and Indians
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has teamed up with Thai Airways and over 100 tour operators and hotels and to offer its “Amazing Thailand Amazing Value” promotions to Chinese and Indian tourists, the Bangkok Post has reported. The aim is to increase visits from these lucrative source markets this high-season.
According to TAT Chairman, Wanchai Sarathoonthat, the move is part of an effort to achieve its twin targets of 15.48 million foreign arrivals and THB600 billion (US$17.9 billion) in tourism revenue for 2008.
“We remain fully optimistic that we can achieve the target, as related parties have now been striving hard to revive the confidence of foreign visitors,” Wanchai said.
