The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is attempting to attract more South Korean visitors, as the kingdom increasingly focuses on regional source markets less affected by high oil prices. The TAT Seoul office has just participated in the Korea Travel Fair (Kofta 2008) in Seoul, and has also organised the Thailand Festival and Road Show 2008 in Seoul and Busan. According to TAT statistics, 1.08 million tourists arrived from South Korea in 2007, staying an average of 5.8 days and spending of Bht4,651 (US$139.75) per head per day.
