AYANA Bali's Tevana Garden has been awarded an Honourable Award in the Parks and Open Space category at the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Asia-Pacific Region Landscape Architecture Awards 2025. This accolade recognises the garden's innovative design, which blends Balinese philosophies with Japanese aesthetics, creating a serene sanctuary that enhances environmental quality and cultural identity.
The 6.7-hectare Tevana Garden, developed by Japan's SAHA Landscape Design Office and PT Karangmas Sejahtera, features forested paths, koi ponds, streams, and a panoramic Viewpoint Tower. It offers a tranquil escape and a venue for events hosting up to 1,000 guests. The garden's design philosophy, "order within gentle chaos," reflects the layered richness of Asian cities and natural environments, providing an immersive experience for visitors.
The garden's design is guided by four principles: harmonising with Bali's environment, supporting diverse activities, unifying landforms and built elements, and infusing Japanese sensibilities into a Balinese setting. This collaboration prioritised using local materials and preserving existing trees, resulting in a landscape that respects its natural surroundings.
Tevana Garden's impact extends beyond aesthetics, contributing positively to the environment and community. It houses over 60 species of tropical plants, enhancing biodiversity and supporting natural cooling. The garden also offers educational and cultural experiences, including Garden Discovery Walks and collaborations with the SAKA Museum.
As part of AYANA Bali's offerings, Tevana Garden stands as an award-winning landscape, inviting guests to experience its beauty and tranquillity.
