The seizure of Bangkok airports by political protesters and a huge foreign exchange loss has caused Airports of Thailand (AoT) to post a THB1.68 billion (US$48 million) net loss in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to a Bangkok Post report.
AoT senior executive, Supaporn Burapakusolsri, blamed “the world financial crisis together with domestic unrest” for the results, which saw AoT’s aeronautical revenue drop 23.4% to THB2.93 billion, the report said.
