THAI celebrates 50 anniversary with new projects

THAI Airways International has announced a number of events and projects to commemorate its 50th anniversary. As part of the celebrations, THAI relived its first flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong as a Boeing 747-400 was painted in the original livery that appeared on the DC-6B aircraft. Cabin crew were dressed in the early days uniform too. THAI has published two books Visions of THAI - 50 Golden Years” and “Smooth as Silk, the History of THAI” featuring THAI’s history, concepts, personal anecdotes, future plans and interviews. A THAI 50th Anniversary Exhibition will be held at CentralWorld, Bangkok until 14 May to showcase the airline’s history and postage stamps will be issued too. Other projects include the IT Sparkling smartphone functions and its three Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
