Thai Airways will use larger aircraft on its Bangkok-Beijing route during the Olympics, the Bangkok Post has reported. THAI is concerned that a lack of slots at Beijing International Airport will limit its expected rise in demand during the Games. As a result the carrier will start operating its Boeing 777 or Airbus A330 aircraft on the route, replacing the existing Boeing 747 and Airbus A300. THAI operates 14 flights a week on the Bangkok-Beijing route.
