Thailand, Cambodia agree on temple
Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said the government has agreed that Cambodia should go ahead and apply to have Preah Vihear temple made a UN World Heritage site – but not the surrounding land, Bangkok Post reported.
“Cambodia and Thailand are preparing to issue a joint communique,”Samak was quoted saying after returning from a two-day official visit to Phnom Penh.
Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama was quoted saying the communique would also stipulate that both countries must jointly manage the area surrounding Preah Vihear.
