JAMES GINNS has become the new director of service delivery for Cathay Pacific, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the airline’s service both on the ground and in the air. Ginns joined Cathay in 1991 and has worked for the airline in Hong Kong, France, Indonesia, Singapore and Japan.
DANE CHENG has been appointed as Cathay Pacific’s new director sales & marketing, responsible for both Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair. Cheng joined the Cathay as a management trainee in 1986 and has worked in a number of managerial positions in Greater China, Japan and Australia.
JAMES TONG has been named as Cathay Pacific’s new director of corporate affairs. Tong joined the Cathay in 1987 and has held a number of senior positions with Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and Air Hong Kong. He is currently the group’s general manager for revenue management.
DUNCAN BUREAU has been appointed as Air Canada’s new vice president of global sales. Bureau has extensive airline industry experience in Canada and Asia, where he was most recently senior vice president of global sales & distribution at Malaysia Airlines. He will now be based in Toronto.
JEREMY McCARTHY has been announced as the new group director of spa for Mandarin Oriental. Based in Hong Kong, McCarthy will now manage the luxury hotel group’s global spa division. A well-known spa professional, he joins Mandarin Oriental with 25 years of experience.
HAKAN OZEL has appointed been appointed general manager of the Shangri-La Hotel Tianjin, which is due to open this summer. Ozel has 20 years of hospitality experience and has been with Shangri-La for more than eight years. Prior to this appointment he was resident manager at Shangri-La Beijing.
JEAN-PAUL MARTIN has been named as Centara Hotels & Resorts’ new area general manager for Mauritius. The French-Mauritian national has 27 years of experience, having been GM for hotels in Mauritius and South Africa. Most recently he was as hotel manager at Sandals Resorts in Grenada.
ABHIJIT GHOSH has become the new resort manager at the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay in Vietnam. The move marks a return to Six Senses for Ghosh, who previously worked for the company in Thailand, Jordan and the Maldives. Most recently he was Hilton’s director of operations in India.
TAMARA KOBIOLKE has been appointed director of sales & marketing at the Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa in Phuket. Ms Kobiolke moves the Thailand from the UK, where she served as director of sales & marketing at Hotel Missoni Edinburgh. She also previously worked at the Westin Sydney.
