Singapore, 28 April 2010. Tiger Airways Singapore today announced that it will be flying to Thiruvananthapuram - also popularly known as Trivandrum - from November 2010. Only last week, Tiger Airways announced new flights to another major South Indian city - Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) - and increased frequencies to Chennai.
With the addition of these two destinations and increased frequencies, Tiger Airways will have its pawprints all over south India, operating a total of 26 flights per week.
Rosalynn Tay, Tiger Airways Singapore Managing Director, said, “We are pleased to bring Tiger Airways’ low-fare offering to yet another major city in south India. As the capital of Kerala state, Trivandrum is a major hub for tourism and various industries, as well as a gateway to the Maldives and Sri Lanka. With our pawprints all over south India, more travelers can take advantage of our famous low, low fares.”
Trivandrum is the southernmost capital city on the west coast of India. With a history stretching back to 1000 B.C., this seaside city on rolling hills is an important historical centre. At the same time, it is a hub for IT, research & development, media & film (India’s first animation park is here), medical tourism and academic development. It is well served by air, rail and road, and an international port is being developed near the city.
Tickets to Trivandrum are on sale now, for travel between 2 November 2010 and 26 March 2011. There are three flights weekly, on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
