Tiger death zoo given extra funding

A zoo in northern China where 11 rare Siberian tigers died of alleged malnutrition has been allocated extra funds by the local government. Xinhua has reported that Shenyang Municipal Government has allocated CNY7 million (US$1.02 million) to assist Shenyang Forest Wild Animal Zoo, in the capital of Liaoning province. CNY5 million of the total will go towards animal protection, with the remaining CNY2 million to facilitate support management and operations, the report said.
