A tigress and her cub escaped from their enclosure at India’s Assam State Zoo on Saturday morning, causing panic among visitors, The Times of India has reported. The Bengal tigers were loose in the 175-hectare zoo for approximately 90 minutes, sending guests fleeing. Authorities first deployed five elephants to shield visitors from the big cats, before successfully tranquilising the animals. The mother tigress, an eight-year-old female, was responsible for mauling a visitor to death two years ago, the report added.
