Tiger Airways has continued its Australian growth by announcing additional services from its hub at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation has reported. The low cost carrier will add a fourth weekly flight between Melbourne and Alice Springs, as well increasing its Melbourne-Sunshine Coast services to daily (from 3 flights per week), and adding an extra weekly flight on its Melbourne-Perth route.
Speaking of the extra Alice Springs services, Tiger’s Managing Director, Shelley Roberts, said; “We have experienced a fantastic response to our consistently low fares from tourists and the people of central Australia alike and I am delighted that these additional low priced seats will be available in time for the Christmas peak season.”
Tiger will operate the Alice Springs services using its new Airbus A320 aircraft, which will be delivered in November. The new delivery brings the carrier’s total A320 fleet to five. Tiger has also taken delivery of tow brand new A319s at its Adelaide hub.
