Tiger Airways may start a service between Darwin in Australia and the Philippines.
An AFP report said the carrier is considering flying the four hour route from Australia to the Clark Air Base near Manila.
The report said Tourism Minister Kon Vatskalis met Tiger chief executive Tony Davies and they had discussed expanding services out of Darwin.
The report said there are about 4,000 people of Filipino descent living in Australia’s Northern Territory. Tiger had previously stated that it wants to turn Darwin into its second Australian hub.
