Tiger Airways is in ongoing talks with the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) ahead of a court hearing on Thursday. The hearing was adjourned on Friday by mutual consent of both parties who warranted more time for dialogue over the carrier’s suspension from Australian airspace. Despite the delay, CASA told reporters that it is hopeful the issue will be resolved before the end of the month. Analysts are also confident that the safety watchdog will not extend the suspension beyond 1 August, giving Tiger an 80% chance that a decision will be made this week. CASA grounded Tiger Airways Australia’s domestic flights on safety issues on 2 July, the first time a carrier’s entire fleet has been grounded in Australia.
