TIPTO (Truly Independent Professional Travel Organisation) has revamped its online training programmes. The three-stage programmes begin with an overview of each operator’s key information and unique selling points, followed by a downloadable presentation providing greater detail on the company’s product range.
Finally, an online test is undertaken, with agents needing to score 80% or higher in order to complete each module and receive a TIPTO certificate.
“TIPTO is dedicated to giving independent agents everything they need to build up their business with our members,” said the organisation’s Chairman Graham Balmforth of Superbreak.”The enhanced training programmes represent a big step forward. In particular the downloadable presentations, which are a new innovation, make it easy for agencies to conduct group training as well as being a valuable reference tool.”
The first 10 agents to complete all 16 operator modules will win a TIPTO goody bag, with fun prizes donated by member operators.
In a separate development, TIPTO has introduced 90-minute formal training sessions held immediately before its popular agent roadshows, consisting of round-robin seated presentations by a maximum of five member operators.
Recent roadshows in Tunbridge Wells, Solihull and Chester saw successful trials of the format, with the process set to be repeated at forthcoming events in Glasgow (April 27), Ipswich (18 May), Bedford (19 May), Torquay (26 May), Harrogate (8 June) and Newcastle (9 June).
“Feedback from members and agents on the pre-roadshow sessions has been extremely positive,” said Balmforth.
“It’s on a much smaller scale than the actual roadshow events, so it means our operators and their retail partners get some real quality time together.”
