Tokyo inspires new London project

Work is to begin on aGBP5 million project to develop London’sfamous Oxford Circus. According to a BBC report, the new street plan will bebased on Tokyo,where pedestrian crossings stop all traffic in all directions, allowing peopleto cross diagonally as well as straight ahead.
Oxford Circus is one of the most popular destinations inthe world, with more than 200 million visitors a year.
