Former British prime minister Tony Blair has called for greater understanding and co-operation in his speech at the World Travel & Tourism Council’s Asia Summit.
“In a world that is interdependent, it’s the connected people that win, and the future belongs to the open-minded,” he said. “We need to know about each other because it is ignorance that breeds fear and fear that breeds conflict.”
“Because the outcome of decisions today is so unpredictable, the only real recourse of leadership is to follow your instinct, do what is right and let your values be your guide….In a fast-changing world, you have to change or get left behind.”
The two-day conference is expected to attract over 400-Asia based business leaders including the CCO of Expedia and CEO of Banyan Tree who have both made appearances.
