New research has revealed the UK beaches that you need to visit – and avoid – if you’re planning to create holiday envy by using your phone at the coast this summer.
The report, compiled by mobile phone insurer Insurance2Go based on data from Ofcom, found the following beaches have the best 4G reception in the UK:
Studland Bay, Dorset
Portstewart Strand, Northern Ireland
Porthminster Beach, Cornwall
Hengistbury Head, Dorset
Crosby Beach, Merseyside
St Anne’s Beach, Lancashire
Cleethorpes Beach, Lincolnshire
Whiterocks Beach, Northern Ireland
Portobello, Scotland
West Wittering, West Sussex
The best beach 4G provider is EE, followed by Vodafone and O2. Three trailed behind in a pretty distant last place.
The following beaches’ 4G signal is non-existent, and likely to cause major frustration for the social media addicts among us:
Barafundle Bay, Wales
Silecroft Beach, Cumbria
Porthcurno, Cornwall
Blackpool Sands, Devon
Sandwood Bay Beach, Scotland
Luskentyre, Scotland
Marloes Sands, Wales
Rhossili Beach, Wales
Barmouth Beach, Wales
Whitesands Bay, Wales
