Tourism Australia, Tourism Northern Territory and Qantas are encouraging the travel trade to apply for the Australian mega familiarisation and training event, Corroboree. Set to take place in Darwin in June 2011, the event involves a series of training workshops followed by a five day fam trip. Tourism Australia General Manager (UK), Rodney Harrex, said he was delighted with the success of last year’s event and commented on the strength of feedback received from agents. “We had very positive feedback from both agents and Australian industry partners and the event had a wonderful feel and atmosphere,” he commented. “Corroboree is such an important part of our Aussie Specialist Programme and there’s really no better way for agents to learn about Australia than to experience it first-hand and to develop their sale skills by networking with more than 100 Australian tourism suppliers during the workshops.”Australia specialists can apply for the trip from Monday 1 November on the Aussie Specialist website (www.aussiespecialist.com).
