Tourism New South Wales launched its new global Sydney campaign in the UK this week. The Tourism board is keen to develop close relationships with the British travel trade and will be running a road show throughout the country at the end of September. “The event will give agents and operators a chance to see what the region has to offer. We want to uncover the secrets of Sydney and get people to fall in love with the destination,” Tourism New South Wales Marketing and Communications Director told Travel Daily. “We’re pushing our vast range of restaurant and nightlife and promoting the city as Australia’s number one dining destination. In addition we want people to be aware of the harbor and beach life in the midst of this cosmopolitan city and the rapidly expanding arts and culture scene.” Eighteen New South Wales tourism suppliers will be attending the road show and trade visitors will have the chance to win a return flight to Sydney flying Etihad Airways. Meanwhile, an online training programme has been put in place which is conducted through the Australia Tourism board. “The programme can be accessed via aussiespecialist.com,” explained New South Wales Regional Director for UK and Europe Kate Young. “Once agents become an Aussie specialist they can then continue to particular regions and become New South Wales specialist.”
