Travel Counsellors has reported a 54% rise in travel professionals joining the company in the last three months compared to the same period last year.
The company, which has more than 850 Travel Counsellor agents across the UK and a further 500 plus overseas, said it welcomed a new agent to its team in the UK for every working day of the year to date. Furthermore it has seen an increasing trend in those joining from corporate travel backgrounds, with business travel now one of the fastest growing areas of the business.
“We have got off to a flying start this year in terms of sales and those looking to enjoy the rewards and benefits of running their own home-based travel business as part of the company,” comments managing director Steve Byrne. “On average each agent has increased their earnings by 12% since the start of the year… We are also seeing substantial growth for corporate travel, which now accounts for 26% of global sales, with 15% of those that have recently joined the company specialising in this field.”
Travel Counsellors is also hosting a series of mini conferences for its agents across the UK and Ireland throughout April, where they will share the latest news, plans and developments from the company.
The company operates in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, Australia, Canada and Dubai with global sales for the financial year-end (31 October 2014) at £428m, an 11% increase on the previous year.
