Langley, UK: 14 July, 2010 - Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, is accelerating the roll-out of Travelport Leisure, its new leisure portal, into 62 more countries over the next month. The company also announces the appointment of Theresa Campbell, from within the organisation, as Travelport Leisure’s dedicated business development manager.
Following Travelport Leisure’s successful launch in June, the one-stop travel agents’ portal, has experienced a surge in internet traffic from over 5,000 hits in its first week to over 25,000 visits by the end of the month.
“The phenomenal response to Travelport Leisure has been truly astounding, with a more than 400% increase in webpage traffic around the world in the first month,” said Jane Lewis, vice president of hospitality and leisure for Travelport. “Agents expressed a great need for a web-based portal that is able to pull together multiple sources of hotel content - and that is exactly what we have provided.”
Commenting on Theresa Campbell’s appointment as Travelport Leisure’s dedicated business development manager, Jane Lewis said: “Theresa has over 15 years’ experience in travel and technology - the last five of which have been with Travelport – and she is the perfect person to lead Travelport Leisure onwards and upwards.”
The Travelport Leisure platform now includes extensive new hotel, hostel, B&B and car options as well as new functionality to add localised content at a country level. It is accessed through a URL and is free of charge to use for all travel agents, even if they do not subscribe to a Travelport GDS.
