Europe’s largest travel company, TUI, has become one of the major overseas tour operators joining the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) “Partner on Demand” campaign, aimed at attracting more Europeans during the low season.
The Nation reported that TAT is spending approximately THB50 million (US$1.4 million) of its THB600 million budget to market Thailand to overseas tourists, by supporting major overseas tour operators that plan to arrange chartered flights and special promotions to Thailand.
TAT will reportedly allocate THB7 million to support TUI’s advertising campaigns.
TUI expects to bring at least 16,000 tourists to Thailand, who would spend an estimated THB852 million. The campaign will run until September.
“European tourists are returning to Thailand, but TAT still needs to continue stimulating the market,” TAT Governor, Phornsiri Manoharn, was reported saying.
