TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website, has revealed that Tunisia has seen a 19 percent uplift in online traffic. The Foreign Office (FCO) lifted its warning against all non-essential travel to country last week, which has stimulated traveller interest in the region once again. In the four days immediately following the FCO stance - nearly one in five were interested in returning to the North African country. Tour operators, which cancelled package holidays to Tunisia, are now said to be reconsidering their stance with some flights expected to resume in early March. “It is always important to check with the Foreign Office before travelling, but this is encouraging news for British travellers and tour operators, as well as the Tunisian travel industry,” said Emma O’Boyle, TripAdvisor spokesperson. “Tunisia is a popular holiday destination for Brits and UK visitors are clearly starting to consider Tunisia as a viable destination once again.”
