lowcostholidays has attributed a rise in bookings during the Christmas period to its new television adverts and the bad weather.
The online travel agent said it has seen traffic to its website rise more than 50% year-on-year from Boxing Day onwards after launching a new advertising campaign.
Rain and winds in Northern Europe and the USA has also helped searches along, as well as a new website in the latter and in Australia.
In the UK the company saw late winter sun bookings for 2013/14 go up 30%, while summer hits included Majorca, Tenerife and Egypt.
“We launched TV adverts across the UK and Ireland on Boxing Day and have seen immediate results from this campaign with more customers heading online to search for sunshine holidays,” said Alex Gisbert CMO from lowcostholidays.
“It certainly doesn’t hurt that Northern Europe and the USA are seeing bad weather and we know from the past that drives more people to browse online,” he added.
