Four UK travel companies have joined the ‘Slovenia…bet you’ll love it” tourism campaign to boost holiday bookings throughout the World Cup season. The drive, fronted by the Slovenian Tourist Board and backed by the country’s football association, will enrol customers onto a cash-back scheme and could save up to 50% on their holiday. The cash-back offer is linked to Slovenia’s progress in the World Cup held in South Africa this year. Should Slovenia reach the quarter finals, those with qualified bookings will get 25% back off the cost of their holiday. If they get to the semi-finals, a 50% refund is paid and the full holiday will be paid back if Slovenia win the whole tournament.Customers must book a holiday with the participating companies between March 10 and June 10 and travelling before March 20011 to qualify. Companies that have already confirmed are: Adria Airways; TUI’s Crystal Lakes and Mountains; Crystal Ski; Zenith Holidays and Secret Slovenia.Dimitrij Piciga, Slovenian Tourist Board director, added: “This is a win-win for Slovenia tourism. If we win the cup, the exposure for our country will be unprecedented and the campaign means thousands of delighted British families can share in our celebrations. If we don’t win, then we still have the consolation of having made lots of new friends.”Captained by West Bromwich Albion midfielder Robert Koren, Slovenia have been drawn in the tournament’s Group C, together with England, USA and Algeria. Slovenia’s opening match is against Algeria on June 13 and they play England on June 23. Visit www.slovenia.info/worldcup to sign up as a participating tour operator or for more information.
