Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) celebrated its 18th anniversary last week, with a price promise to consumers that it will maintain service standards. UIA, which launched its first flight on 25th November 1992 between Kiev and London Gatwick, is now offering customers a 10 percent discount on all flight bookings between the two cities. The carrier is also offering a similar offer on Mercedes transfers to and from Gatwick Airport, in partnership with ACS Executive Chauffer Service. Meanwhile, in addition to being the only Ukrainian airline to remain profitable in 2009, the carrier’s first half year results for 2010 showed exciting growth, with 13 percent more scheduled flights operated, and an increase in passenger numbers of 23 percent over the same period last year. “This growth is the result of the anti-crisis strategy undertaken by UIA,” said UIA president Yuri Miroshnikov. “Over the last 12 months, UIA took delivery of four new Boeing 737-800 next-generation aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet renewal and expansion plans. All the new aircraft are equipped with the latest technology, including raised ‘winglets’, which improve the efficiency of the aircraft by reducing drag, allowing for fuel savings and consequently, lower carbon emissions.” To discuss further incentives and corporate and business group discounts, please contact uia-uk@aviareps-group.com. Ukraine International Airlines, in co-operation with Brussels Airlines and bmi, now offers service to Kiev from London Heathrow, and UK regional airports, via Brussels Airport.
