Virgin Group’s newest carrier, V Australia and Delta Air Lines, the world’s largest airline, have signed an Australia-US interline agreement, according to a report in The Age. Virgin said the agreement, effective immediately, allows travellers to purchase a single ticket from V Australia or Delta for travel on the networks of each carrier.
Delta and V Australia are competitors on the trans-Pacific route, with the US carrier planning to launch direct daily services on the Sydney to Los Angeles route from 1 July. V Australia commenced flying between Los Angeles and Sydney on 27 February, with services from Brisbane and Melbourne also scheduled to start later this year.
