V Australia this week celebrated the launch of its inaugural service between Sydney and Abu Dhabi. The long-haul arm of Virgin Blue will operate three weekly Boeing 777 services on the route. One of the passengers aboard the first flight from Sydney was James Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of V Australia’s codeshare partner, Etihad Airways.
“[The] joint service from Sydney to Abu Dhabi with Virgin Blue’s international arm V Australia marks the beginning of an exciting new era of cooperation for Etihad and Virgin Blue and opens up a new world of choice for travellers on our combined global network of more than 100 destinations,” said Hogan.
Together, Etihad and V Australia will operate 24 services between Australia and Abu Dhabi.
