Schonbrunn palace in ViennaVienna has been selected to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, following the city’s official bid submitted on July 3, 2025. With this successful application, Vienna reaffirms its reputation as one of Europe’s top destinations for international events, culture, and hospitality.
Fans from the United Kingdom, Europe, and all over the world should mark three key dates in their calendars for 2026: the first semifinal on May 12 and the second semifinal on May 14, both at Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle. The Grand Final will take place on May 16. Thousands of fans from across the globe, as well as more than 1,500 accredited media representatives, are expected to travel to Vienna for the world’s biggest entertainment event.

We have submitted a strong bid including a large accommodation capacity, excellent infrastructure, and a wealth of experience in hosting international events. In addition, we have focused on offering numerous free non-commercial public ESC events. As Mayor of Vienna, it is very important to me that cultural events are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial means. I would also like to congratulate Innsbruck for competing with Vienna with such passion, even if it did not work out this time. As Mayor of Vienna, I am obviously very happy that Vienna won the bid and will represent Austria again next year. I am sure that we will have a fabulous time together next May.”
