Vietjet, the Vietnamese low-cost carrier, has started connecting two previously unlinked Asian cities.
The airline has become the first in history to operate non-stop scheduled flights between Haiphong, the Vietnamese port city, and Seoul, the South Korean capital. Services will now operate four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), with a flight time of approximately five hours.
Vietjet now operates nine routes out of Haiphong’s Cat Bi International Airport, including the recently launched international service to Bangkok.
South Korea is Vietnam’s second largest visitor source market, with arrivals from the country surging 39.2% to 1.39 million in the first 11 months of 2016.
