Vietnam Airlines aims for regional supremacy

Vietnam Airlines aims to become the second largest airlines in the Southeast Asia by 2015, behind only Singapore Airlines. A VietnamNet Bridge report stated that the national carrier is planning to develop its fleet, improve the quality of services and increase the number of aircraft to 104 in 2015 and 150 in 2020. The airline will focus on upgrading air routes, developing infrastructure, training pilots and improving maintenance work, the report said.
The airlines currently ranks fourth in the region with 50 aircraft operating on 29 domestic and 36 international air routes.
