The carrier plans to purchase 10 of the Airbus narrow-bodied aircraft by 2010. VN will also welcome the first of four Boeing 787-8s in 2009.
According to Thahn, the carrier intends to double its fleet to more than 80 aircraft by 2015 to accommodate 15% annual growth. VN carried 2.03 million passengers in the first quarter of this year, up 16.8% year-on-year. It plans to launch service to the US next year.
