The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VANT) has hired an international design company to build a new tourism brand image for the country. Australia’s Cowan Design Company has been chosen for the task, which will support the VNAT’s new 2011-15 marketing strategy. Cowan’s design will incorporate a star-shaped logo and the slogan ‘Vietnam – A Different Orient’. The new branding will support the country’s marketing activities, including international travel fairs, road shows and tourism festivals.
The VNAT’s Director General, Nguyen Van Tuan, said that the appointment marked the first time Vietnam has hired an outside company for its marketing. “We’ve been doing marketing activities by ourselves. Now we want to go professional,” Tuan explained.
