Vietnamese cuisine becomes a favourite

Many experts and customers have said the major reason Vietnamesecuisine is well loved is that it is more balanced - it is not as oily as Chinese, nor as spicy as Thai food as reportedby Vietnam.net. Vietnamese tourism and travel agencies, however, are yet to highlightthe Vietnamese cuisine to international tourists.
Many travel agenciesemphasise tourism destinations, leaving out local cuisine, though, according to a recent survey conductedby the Pacific Asian Tourism Association, 80% of tourists want to taste local food at their destinations said thereport. No systematic cooperation between restaurants and travel agencies are also being blamed. Trinh Cao Khai, head ofthe Culinary Department at Hanoi College of Tourism told newswires, restaurants and travel agencies should work together in order topromote Vietnamese cuisine, and thus, tourism, in a more comprehensive way.
Didier Corlou, Sofitel Metropole Hanoi’schef-in-chief, who has long cooked Vietnamese dishes for high-ranking officialsand VIPs, said pho, or the Vietnamese noodle soup, is the best dish in theworld.
